FAQ

Q. at what age can i start training my puppy?

A. We can start helping you train your puppy as early as 8 weeks! The sooner you start training your puppy, the better!

Q. I have an older dog. can he still be trained?

A. Yes! It's never too late to start coaching and teaching your dog how to navigate life with you. With older dogs, we just start by making sure the dogs are healthy before embarking on a program. We want to rule out the possibility of behavior problems being caused by injuries, poor nutrition, or overall poor health.

Q. I have multiple dogs. How does that work?

A. First, we will have a phone conversation to hear about your dogs and any issues you might be experiencing. The next step is to set up your first training session where we will meet your dogs and start to evaluate them. Depending on the situation, we may choose to incorporate multiple dogs in the training program, or we may choose to focus on one dog. This varies case to case.

Q. where does the training take place?

A. The first training session usually takes place in your home. Followup sessions may take place in your home, at a nearby park, or at another location mutually agreed upon.

Q. how long does the training program last?

A. We offer multiple programs of varying lengths. We also take into consideration your training priorities and goals. In general, you can expect to commit to at least 6 weeks of training, meeting with your trainer one time per week. Highly reactive, aggressive, or fearful dogs may require more time.

Q. Do you offer Board & Train Programs?

A. At this time, Foundry Dogworks does not offer board & train programs. Assuming it's logistically possible, we usually recommend the owners being involved in the training process on a weekly basis. We do, however, offer Customized Day Training as a jumpstart or accelerator in the training process. Schedule and availability permitting, Day Training allows your dog to spend an hour, a half day, or a full day with our trainer. During these sessions, greats strides can be taken in overcoming fear, reactivity, aggression, or working on specialized skills or play.

Q. Do you guarantee results?

A. It is impossible to guarantee perfect results for every case, as there are many factors that go into achieving success with your dog. What we do guarantee is that we will be here for you to answer your questions and continue to guide and coach you until you are happy. Your trainer will be as committed as you are to the success of your dog. Bottom line, if you put in the time and follow instructions, you will be be happy with the results!
